We found that the practical approaches on Green Care farms were applications of the developmental theories of Jean Piaget, Stanley Greenspan, and Viktor Frankl.

At any age, learning to care (Green Care) improved personal interactions and that improved mental processing. Nurtured, smooth structuring of mental pathways allowed for smooth recall and analysis.

We grouped our key findings into four principles corresponding to the four causes or dimensions of reality of Aristotle:

Green care is care focused on learning to care

Green Care uses new findings in human development to explain how to form good leadership.

Formal (how) …………We all have the same sequence of steps of development (Piaget).

Material (what)……..All perceptions are “dual coded” with  emotions (Greenspan).

Efficient (who)……….We are formed by emotional distinctions and regulations (Greenspan).

Final (why)……………..We must gain compassion to form a good (humane) will (Frankl).
